Apple has release an update to the software that runs its Apple TV. Version 2.2 of the Apple TV software fixes bugs, but also addresses three security issues. There are two cases of, “Viewing a maliciously crafted movie file may lead to an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution,” and one case where, “Opening a maliciously crafted PICT image may lead to an unexpected application termination.”
You can update your Apple TV by selecting Settings > Update Software on the Apple TV’s television interface.
