Opera has released version 12 of the company’s web browser. This version fixes six security vulnerabilities and adds support for the “Do Not Track” feature, where users can activate a setting in the program’s Security preferences asking web sites to not track them. This depends, of course, on web sites honoring this request, but move to implement Do Not Track is gaining momentum as all major browsers now support this. (With Safari for Mac OS X, turning this setting on is not very obvious. Users must first turn on the Develop menu from the Advanced preferences, then choose the Send Do Not Track HTTP Header menu item to activate it.)
Opera users can update their browser using the program’s built-in auto-updater, or download a copy here.
