Firefox Celebrates Its Sweet 16

The Mozilla Foundation has released Firefox 16, the newest version of their free web browser. Fixed in Firefox 16 for Mac OS X and other operating systems are eleven critical vulnerabilities and three high-level ones. The update covers 24 CVEs overall, although CVE-2012-3987 only affects Firefox for Android.

In addition to security fixes, the new Firefox unleashes an array of features for developers, including more HTML5 support, which Seth Rosenblatt at CNET described in more detail earlier today. To get the latest version for your Mac, you can use the program’s built-in auto-updater (go to Firefox > About Firefox > Check for Updates), or you can download the new Firefox from Mozilla’s official site.
