Google Chrome 18 Arrives, Bringing Nine Security Fixes

Yes, you read that right: it’s Google Chrome 18 already. It was just a week ago that Google released Chrome 17. This new release patches nine vulnerabilities, none of them critical. It also contains the latest version of Adobe Flash, which we mentioned a few days ago.

This new release also features hardware acceleration, speeding up the browser. You can find out what type of hardware acceleration your Mac supports by entering chrome://gpu in Chrome’s address bar, and pressing Return.

Chrome updates automatically, so if you have the browser already, it will be updated. If not, you can download Chrome here.
