Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.6.7 with Security Fixes

Posted on by

Apple has released Mac OS X 10.6.7, an update to Snow Leopard, which contains a number of security fixes, as is often Apple’s wont. The update contains patches for 56 different flaws and bugs, ranging from AirPort to X11, and including a number of updates for third-party software such as Apache and PHP.

At the same time, Apple has released Security Update 2011-001 for Mac OS X 10.5, Leopard, containing, for the most part, the same security fixes. In fact, in Apple’s information about this update, the company does not separate the different versions of Mac OS X (Snow Leopard and Leopard, client and server), but groups all the fixes in a single list, specifying which specific release each one applies to.

The updates, available from Apple’s Downloads page, range in size from 475 MB to 1.12 GB for Snow Leopard client (update only or combo updater), though the version provided through Software Update is only 313 MB, and from 241 MB to 473 MB for Leopard. Snow Leopard Server updates are 541 MB and 1.15 GB.

Apple has also updated its Server Admin Tools to version 10.6.7. This software is available here.
