Apple launches Apple TV app for Android phones and tablets

On Wednesday, February 12, Apple released an Apple TV app for Android smartphones and tablets.
Now, for the first time ever, users can easily watch Apple Originals and other Apple TV+ streaming content on Android mobile devices. Previously, the only smartphones and tablets with a native Apple TV app were Apple’s own iPhone and iPad. Available content includes hit shows like Ted Lasso, Severance, Silo, and more.
Since 2020, Apple has offered an Apple TV app for select Android TV-based televisions and set-top boxes; interestingly, Apple still offers a separate Sony version of its Android TV app in the Google Play store. The main app listing was previously for Android TV devices other than Sony’s; this version of the app now includes Android tablet and smartphone support.
Apple has a number of other apps for non-Apple operating systems; you can see listings for Google Play (Android) and the Microsoft Store (Windows).
Ownership of an Apple device isn’t required to sign up for the Apple TV+ streaming service. To get a free trial, just go to tv.apple.com, and you’ll be able to create an Apple Account if you don’t already have one.
