Apple has recently published a white paper called Solutions for System Management, Tools for managing large-scale deployments
of Mac computers in Education. This document contains a handful tools and programs that are useful for those managing large numbers of Macs in schools and universities. In addition to Apple solutions – Apple Remote Desktop and Mac OS X Server – the document presents a handful of third-party tools, including Intego’s Remote Management Console. The document explains the program’s interest in this context:
Remote Management Console allows you to manage Intego Internet security software on multiple Macintosh computers. Create and load settings files, configure individual settings and functions, and make changes to Intego programs on all managed computers quickly and easily, whether for individual users or groups. You can apply the same settings to all users or apply templates with preset configurations to specific users and groups.
We at Intego are happy to see this essential management tool included in this Apple document. We have many customers – ranging from small schools to entire school districts, from 100 to nearly 100,000 seats – using Remote Management Console to ensure a consistent security policy for all Macs. For more about using Remote Management Console, or for more information on Intego software in the education market, contact edu@intego.com.
