Adobe Releases Flash Player 11.2 with Fixes for Critical Security Issues
Posted on by Peter James
Adobe has released a new version of Flash Player, 11.2 (or, more precisely, 11.2.202.228), fixing critical security issues that “could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.”
At the same time, Adobe has announced an update for the Flash Player updater, which will start providing silent background updates of the plug-in. Users will have three options: they can have updates install automatically, they can be notified, or the updater can never check for updates. For now, this new updater is only available for Windows, but Adobe says that “A Mac version is currently under development.”
