Adobe Releases Another Update for Reader and Acrobat

Posted on by

It’s becoming familiar – there’s a new flaw that means that using Adobe Reader or Acrobat for viewing PDFs opens users up to security risks, Adobe announces that they’ll be fixing it soon, then they release an update. There’s another one this week, which Adobe discussed last month. As they said:

This vulnerability could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. There are reports that this vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild.

There are two updaters for Reader: one for PowerPC Macs and one for Intel-based Macs, both around 7 MB.

The Acrobat Pro updater is a bit bigger, at nearly 70 MB.

All of these updates are for Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later.
